Derek Walker House

Yorkshire

Terrazzo - Turquoise, blue, green and brown recycled glass in a biscuit colour mix design.
40% Recycled content.

This house designed by Derek Walker Associates and built in Yorkshire in 1968, was in desperate need of renovation after many years of neglect. After a successful and sympathetic restoration of the 3 storey home, the owner was looking for a work surface that was both unique and in keeping with the character and era of the building.

We came up with a biscuit coloured mix base to match the blockwork colour of the building and original floor tiles of the ground floor. After a few trial samples the owner opted to further add colour, choosing turquoise, blue green and brown recycled glass in equal proportions.

The design scheme included over ten linear metres of work surface including upstands, tiles, splash backs, under mounted sinks and drainer grooves, for both the kitchen and utility room.
